Secure OpenClaw Setup

For Founders and Solopreneurs

OpenClaw is powerful. Setting it up right is hard.

OpenClaw can automate hours of your daily work. But getting there? That's a different story.

Most founders spend 8+ hours wrestling with VPS configuration, Tailscale networking, security hardening, and plugin setup—only to end up with something that kinda works.

And even if you get it running, there's a bigger question: what should you actually automate first? The difference between a useful AI assistant and an expensive toy is knowing which workflow to build.

What I Do

I handle the entire setup so you can skip the infrastructure headache and go straight to a working AI assistant:

  • Secure cloud infrastructure — VPS provisioned and hardened, Tailscale mesh networking, locked-down SSH access
  • Find your first workflow — We identify the highest-impact task to automate, based on how you actually work
  • Build until it works — Not "here's a config file, good luck"—I build and test until it's reliably doing the thing
  • 1 month of support included — Questions, tweaks, and troubleshooting after you're up and running

Ongoing support available if you want continued assistance.

Example Workflows

These are real workflows I've built for founders:

  • Coaching call recordings → marketing copy — Transcribe sessions, extract key insights, generate social content
  • Business card photos → CRM entries — Snap a photo, OCR + research, populate your CRM with rich context
  • Pre-meeting briefs — LinkedIn profile, company background, recent news, earnings summary—ready before every call

We'll find the right first workflow for your situation.

About

I've been contributing to OpenClaw since the first week of the project. I know the codebase, the common pitfalls, and the patterns that actually work.

Beyond OpenClaw: 10+ years building and managing engineering teams at places like Disney, Outlier, and a bunch of startups you've never heard of. I've shipped ad servers handling 10B+ requests/day, learning platforms that TIME Magazine named one of the best inventions of 2020, and a lot of web infrastructure in between.

I run js.la, one of the largest JavaScript meetups in the US, and I've written a couple of popular programming books (Fullstack React, Fullstack Node.js).

But mostly: I actually use OpenClaw every day, so I know what works.
